MEGA BLOOD DONATION DRIVE DURING LOCKDOWN

Rotary Club of Rewari Main in association with Red Cross Society, Rewari started mega blood donation drive started from Apr 21, 2020 ended on May 03, 2020. 

Due to prolonged lockdown in country all the blood banks of our city including the major one at civil hospital were severely running short of blood. Many critical patients were struggling to procure blood during emergencies. So both the organizations decided to start contacting & motivating the enthusiastic blood donors to reach Blood Bank at Civil Hospital Rewari for blood donation. 

The appeal for blood donation got circulated in Rewari district through digital ways like Press, Facebook and WhatsApp so that more donors can come forward and contribute in this noble cause. 

A help line number (01274-253101, 9728864278) was also published for Rewari public where they can call and book the appointment for blood donation. The donor got a lockdown pass so that he/she can come to blood bank without any issues. 

Every donor got refreshment, a certificate and a gift from the organization as an appreciation of his/her voluntary donation. 

Organizations supported  in this initiative are Miles to Educate, TeamR4, Road Safety Organization, Red Cross Society & Blood Donors Group Rewari. 

Happy to announce that, Total 110 Blood units got collected during this mega drive, 67 blood units under multizone blood donation initiative and rest solely by RC Rewari Main. 

Hence, Blood Units collected till now in this Rotary Year by Rotary Club of Rewari Main:- 1082 Blood Units 

Blood Units collected till now under Multi Zone Blood Donation projects (zone 15 & 16 joint projects):- 983 Blood Units.
